A Kind of Alaska

A Kind of Alaska: by Harold Pinter Directed by Carla Fuhre for Between Shifts Theatre.
Based on a series of case reports on patients struck down by Encephalitis Lethargica in the early decades of this century and reactivated in the late sixties by the drug L-DOPA. A Kind of Alaska is a study of a middle-aged woman waking up after 29 years passed in a coma induced by sleeping sickness. In her mind she is still 16, and her attempts to fathom the changed world into which she emerges is painful and poignant. brackendaleartgallery@shaw.ca
